The 2020 census count for the district is 909,503.

The senator's page lists the counties served by three district offices. The Lubbock office serves Crosby, Floyd, Garza, Hale, Hockley, Lamb, Lubbock, Lynn, and Terry. The San Angelo office serves Coleman, Concho, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, Mills, Nolan, Runnels, San Saba, Taylor, and Tom Green. The Childress office serves Baylor, Childress, Collingsworth, Cottle, Dickens, Donley, Fisher, Foard, Gray, Hardeman, Haskell, Jones, Kent, King, Knox, Motley, Stonewall, Throckmorton, Wheeler, Wichita, and Wilbarger.

In the 2020 census, Lubbock is entirely inside the district, with 257,141 people, and San Angelo is entirely inside, with 99,893. Abilene is split: 96 percent, 119,672 people, is in Taylor County, and 4 percent, 5,510 people, is in Jones County. Wichita Falls is 49 percent inside the district, 50,152 people. Plainview is entirely inside, with 20,187 people.
